Tasks
Ensuring the updating and compliance of operational documents related to OHS, including standards, laws, regulations, and customer requirements.
Conducting audits, proposing recommendations, implementing preventive or corrective measures, then monitoring their application.
Participating in incident investigations, leading investigation teams, and overseeing the process.
Communicating improvement ideas and OHS-related issues to the management team.
Contributing to the annual evaluation of OHS management systems.
Monitoring operations on operational unit sites and vessels.
Identifying hazards and assess risks related to activities.
Participating in various committees and task forces.
Monitoring employee and manager OHS training.
Coordinating employee OHS training with team leaders.
Preparing necessary documentation to ensure active compliance with rules.
Analyzing OHS-related incident trends by identifying causes and implementing preventive measures.
Being a driver of change in the operational unit.
Performing any other related tasks.

Job requirements
DCS in Occupational Health and Safety Management or equivalent.
Minimum of two years of experience as an OHS generalist.
Experience in both federal and provincial jurisdictions, and in a unionized environment.
Excellent proficiency in Microsoft Office suite.
Fully bilingual, both orally and in writing.
Excellent knowledge of laws and regulations related to occupational health and safety (COHSR, Canada Labour Code, and other federal laws).
Experience in the maritime transportation field is an asset.
