Our client, a large organization operating essential marine infrastructure on Montreal’s South Shore, is looking for an Industrial Electrician with a Class C licence. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining electrical systems, control equipment, and operational facilities. They will also participate in equipment monitoring, respond to breakdowns, and help ensure the continuity of operations. Comprehensive training in both maintenance and operations will be provided to prepare them for the various responsibilities of the position.
Tasks
Remotely monitor, operate, and adjust various equipment related to operational infrastructure.
Maintain, troubleshoot, and repair electrical systems, control equipment, and industrial installations.
Diagnose electrical faults and respond promptly to minimize operational downtime.
Inspect equipment, verify proper operation, and perform the necessary corrective work.
Participate in operational procedures required for the safe functioning of the infrastructure.
Prepare, complete, and update work orders, reports, and service notifications.
Record operational data and completed interventions in electronic systems.
Monitor alarms, assess problematic situations, and implement required emergency measures.
Communicate with various stakeholders to ensure the continuity and safety of operations.
Act as a first responder when required.
Follow all procedures, standards, and safe work practices at all times.
Perform any other duties related to the maintenance, operation, and safety of the facilities.

Job requirements
Valid Class C electrician licence in Quebec.
DEP in Electricity or Electromechanics obtained in Quebec.
Minimum of two years of industrial electrical experience.
Experience in the maintenance, troubleshooting, and servicing of electrical equipment.
Proficiency with programmable logic controllers (PLCs), variable frequency drives (VFDs), motor controls, and soft starters.
Ability to work at heights, below grade, near water, and in confined spaces.
Proficiency with monitoring, industrial control, and maintenance management software.
Eligibility to obtain federal security clearance.
Ability to work both indoors and outdoors and on a rotating day/night schedule following a 2-2-3 rotation.
Willingness to undergo a medical examination, functional abilities evaluation, and drug screening.
Valid Class 5 or Class 3 driver’s licence and an insurable driving record.
Strong verbal and written English communication skills, as more than 40% of communications are conducted in English.
Experience in the marine industry is considered a strong asset.
