The professional in this role will serve as a specialized technical expert in mechanical engineering, actively contributing to the design of new equipment and/or the modification of existing ones. Our Engineer will strengthen the Design Department, collaborating with other mechanical engineers and technicians.
Directly supervising a group of trained mechanical designers.
Collaborating closely with a project management team acting as clients, communicating divergences, and tracking progress to achieve project goals.
Clarifying prerequisites for all projects within the direct team and ensuring respect of these conditions throughout project timelines.
Approving mechanical engineering documents prepared by the designers in the direct team.
Approving mechanical ideas as a team and selecting the most suitable concept while considering constraints.
Contributing to risk assessments related to machine safety in collaboration with the specialized engineer, establishing and confirming corrective solutions to meet established standards.
Performing any other related tasks.

Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering.
Member of the OIQ (Ordre des ingénieurs du Québec).
At least five years’ experience in a similar position.
Fluency in French (both oral and written).
Professional proficiency in English.
Specialization in machine safety is an asset.
Good communication skills.
Ability to work effectively in a team.
Ability to analyze complex situations.
Ability to motivate and guide a multidisciplinary team.
Strong commitment to occupational health and safety.
