Do you have experience in the design, manufacturing of instruments or in the design, operation, diagnosis and maintenance of production equipment, and are you also skilled in reading plans and understanding engineering work instructions? Your expertise is sought after and your contribution will be highly regarded and valued! Our client, a multinational company that manufactures and offers new solutions in vibrating wire and fiber optic technologies for geotechnical and structural instruments is looking for a Mechanical Engineer for their Saint-Lambert location.


  • Design, test, develop and/or source various products: tools, machinery and equipment.
  • Find and test new or replacement parts.
  • Ensure that manufacturing procedures and instructions are followed during equipment maintenance and repair services.
  • Test new or existing procedures to eliminate wasted time and improve quality.
  • Review design, documentation and procedures when necessary to overcome problems.
  • Test product operation until product reliability is achieved and quality standards are met.
  • Review quality control processes and make recommendations for improvements.
  • Manage assigned projects to achieve optimal production and design quality.
  • Create, review and approve drawings, work instructions, documentation and production procedures.
  • Assist production during manufacturing phrases until production is stable and sustainable.
  • Provide technical assistance to sales in the design and preparation of special projects.
  • Adhere to the rules, policies, procedures and work standards established by the company.
  • Maintain a clean and organized environment and promote good work practices.
  • Perform any other related duties.

Job requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or equivalent experience.
  • Ability to read and understand work instructions, plans and engineering procedures.
  • Good knowledge of drafting software (SolidWorks or AutoCAD).
  • Experience in instrument design or manufacturing OR design, operation, diagnosis and maintenance.
  • Knowledge of the MS Office environment.
  • Bilingual in French and English (asset).
