Our client is a family-owned lumber business who has successfully weathered the storms (literal and figurative) of the last 50 years. They have mills across the west coast of North America and pride themselves on being stable, respectful members of the communities they serve. As they continue to grow, they are seeking motivated Millwrights to join their Burns Lake, BC operation.


  • Installing and repairing machinery and equipment to keep it in good working order;
  • Troubleshooting problems, as well as checking equipment for faults and performance issues;
  • Performing routine cleaning and maintenance on machinery, tools, and equipment in accordance with maintenance schedules;
  • Reading and understanding operating manuals, blueprints, and drawings to successfully install and run various equipment and attachments;
  • Performing technical support for related hardware and software systems;
  • Adhering to health and safety guidelines and reporting issues as they arise;
  • Carrying out additional tasks which contribute to the success of this position.

  • Our client offers a full range of benefits, including health, vision, dental, life insurance, and disability;
  • After your first year, you have 3 weeks vacation, and it goes up from there;
  • Annual pay increases, usually 2% per year. Profit sharing is also offered, paid out annually, so your hard work is directly rewarded;

Job requirements

  • Red Seal certification or third-year apprentice ;
  • A solid mechanical understanding and demonstrated experience installing, maintaining, and repairing machines and tools;
  • Ability to exert some physical effort, dexterity, and coordination, including lifting, twisting, bending, carrying heavy objects, and working on uneven surfaces;
  • Strong computer skills and an aptitude for hardware and software support;
  • Ability to use and understand mathematics and numeric;
  • Good command of English, written and spoken.
