Our client, a reputable notarial office recognized for its personalized approach and professionalism, is seeking a Legal Assistant / Legal Technician to support the notary in the preparation, drafting, and follow-up of various legal matters. Tasks

  • Open, prepare, and follow up on various notarial files.
  • Draft legal documents, including wills, protection mandates, estate files, and non-contentious proceedings.
  • Prepare drafts of notarial deeds, legal procedures, and other legal documents.
  • Prepare correspondence and communications intended for clients and various stakeholders.
  • Follow up with financial institutions, real estate brokers, healthcare professionals, and other parties involved in files.
  • Confirm appointments with clients.
  • Assist the notary with legal research and the day-to-day management of files.
  • Participate in answering calls and welcoming clients when required.
  • Prepare mailings and courier shipments.
  • Perform any other related duties.

Job requirements

  • Legal studies diploma or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Relevant experience in a legal or notarial environment is essential.
  • Advanced French and English bilingualism is required, as the position is located in Montreal's West Island and involves regular communication with clients, partners, and stakeholders consisting of approximately 50% French-speaking and 50% English-speaking individuals.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple files simultaneously and meet deadlines.
  • Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Knowledge of Pro-Cardex software is considered an asset.
