Our client, located in the heart of downtown, is well known in the cultural field and is looking for a Payroll Coordinator for a permanent position.

Tasks

  • Handle the entry, update and submission of payroll data in employee files.
  • Verify the information in accordance with the laws and collective agreements.
  • Ensure the application of the various benefits granted to employees.
  • Update employee files upon hiring and/or promotion, transfer of position and termination of employment.
  • Participate in the year-end payroll process and tax forms.
  • Assign and reconcile salaries and benefits.
  • Prepare and produce various reports
  • Participate in special projects
  • Perform the accounting cycle
  • Handle accounting reports.
  • Perform any other tasks related to the position.

Job requirements

  • Minimum 3 years of experience in payroll processing and accounting.
  • DEC in accounting or similar degree.
  • Must be a member of the Canadian Payroll Association at level 1 or 2.
  • Knowledge of the unionized employee environment.
  • Good knowledge of MS Office, particularly Excel.
  • Knowledge of CARRA is an asset.
  • Knowledge of SOFE, Virtuo and Crystal reports software are great assets.
  • Good knowledge of the French language.
  • Knowledge of the implementation of new systems is an asset.
