Are you a dynamic, experienced Payroll Manager seeking a challenging role that drives operational excellence and ensures compliance within a diverse workforce? Our client is a leading company with a strong Canadian identity committed to inclusivity and diversity, is seeking a Bilingual Payroll Manager to join our Mississauga team.


  • Lead and manage full-cycle payroll for a diverse workforce, ensuring timely and accurate processing of salaries, benefits, taxes, and deductions.
  • Oversee reconciliation, final approval of payroll files, and provide insights on labor costs through workforce analytics.
  • Maintain compliance with government regulations, responding to notices and correspondences to uphold good standing accounts.
  • Mentor and guide the payroll team, ensuring adherence to processes and procedures across branches.
  • Manage year-end processing, government filings, and audit activities for each payroll cycle.

Job requirements

  • CPM designation with a degree in Business Administration, Accounting, HR, or related field.
  • 3+ years of Canadian payroll management experience in union and non-union environments.
  • Proficiency in payroll systems (Preferably Payworks and Success Factors).
  • Comprehensive knowledge of Canadian payroll legislation.
  • Proven leadership skills, with a passion for coaching and team development.
  • Bilingual proficiency (English and French) is an asset.

Desired profile

  • Extensive Leadership Experience: Demonstrated background as a Manager or above for a minimum of 5 years in both union and non-union environments, showcasing comprehensive understanding and proficiency in Canadian payroll management.
  • Bilingual Proficiency and Cultural Sensitivity: Fluency in both English and French languages is essential to effectively mentor and guide a diverse workforce across multiple branches while ensuring compliance with Canadian payroll legislation and fostering an inclusive environment.
  • Proven Compliance and Analytical Skills: Strong track record in ensuring regulatory compliance with government regulations, adeptness in overseeing year-end processing, audit activities, and providing actionable insights through labor cost analysis utilizing workforce analytics tools, ensuring accurate and timely payroll processing.
