As a Planner and Order Preparer – Bending, you will be at the heart of the manufacturing process, playing a key role in planning and preparing production orders. Your mission will be to ensure the smooth and efficient organization of the bending department, ensuring that each task is meticulously prepared and ready to be executed. You will work closely with the production team to optimize workflows, ensure order accuracy, and contribute to the overall performance of production. Your expertise in managing production orders and your ability to anticipate needs will help the entire team maintain an optimal production pace and ensure the quality of the metal parts produced.

Tasks

  • Organize work orders for bending presses according to priorities and machine capabilities.
  • Optimize the use of resources (time, labor, tools) and adapt planning based on emergencies or changes.
  • Prepare necessary documents (plans, DXF/3D, tolerances, instructions) and verify the accuracy of information before production.
  • Ensure the availability of required materials and tools.
  • Collaborate with teams from laser cutting, welding, quality, and shipping.
  • Communicate with the sales and engineering departments to resolve non-conformities.
  • Support operators with technical questions.
  • Monitor the progress of orders, resolve discrepancies, and participate in managing non-conformities.
  • Suggest improvements to optimize production.
  • Perform other related duties as required.

Job requirements

  • Training or experience in sheet metal fabrication (DEP or equivalent).
  • Expertise in metal bending and use of bending presses.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings.
  • Experience in production planning (an asset).
  • Proficiency in ERP/MRP systems and computer tools.
  • Strong organizational skills, priority management, and attention to detail.
  • Good teamwork and communication skills.
