Do you have an analytical mindset, are you meticulous, and results-oriented? Is project estimation in electrical work part of your professional expertise? Are you familiar with evaluating costs, materials, and labor? If so, we would love to meet you! The person in this position will be responsible for managing and coordinating activities related to bids for new projects. Their primary responsibilities include conducting in-depth analysis of received bid requests and evaluating the needs and requirements of the projects. They will also be tasked with transferring their recommendations to estimators so they can create accurate and detailed quotes . Additionally, the individual will prepare and submit project proposals in collaboration with the estimation team, ensuring deadlines and client requirements are met. They will maintain clear communication between departments, especially with estimators, to optimize the quality and competitiveness of submitted offers. The estimator reports directly to the Director of Operations in the electrical sector.

Tasks

  • Responding to the estimation process, from receiving projects, requesting documents (plans and specifications), submitting approved bids, and transferring the project to the project manager.
  • Researching projects the company could bid on.
  • Assisting project managers with pricing changes or extras when required.
  • Analyzing the costs incurred in each project at its completion and comparing them with the original bid to control cost structures and improve the bidding process.
  • Visiting job sites as needed for bid preparation, researching materials, contacting suppliers, negotiating material prices, and estimating work execution time considering all constraints.
  • Reviewing technical information, interpreting plans and specifications to prepare cost estimates.
  • Performing any other related tasks.

Job requirements

  • A college diploma in Estimation and Building Evaluation Technology (preferred) or a relevant field.
  • Valid driver’s license.
  • At least 5 years of experience in a similar position.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel, company management applications, Outlook messaging, and web browsers.
