Tasks

  • Clean and sterilize tools, equipment, and medical devices according to current standards.
  • Sort, decontaminate, and prepare reusable medical material.
  • Inspect, assemble, and package materials before sterilization.
  • Disinfect, sterilize, store, and distribute medical equipment.
  • Perform quality control at each step of the process and document it.
  • Report any incident or situation that compromises patient safety.
  • Use medical device reprocessing equipment.
  • Prepare service rooms: clean surfaces, change sheets, and transport soiled trays.
  • Keep the break room clean and organized: change sheets, tidy up, and ensure availability of clean linens.
  • Wash, fold, and store bedding, laundry, and work clothing.
  • Maintain the sterilization room clean at all times.
  • Check inventories and report any product below the required threshold to the nurse in charge of purchases.
  • Participate in special projects with the team.
  • Perform all other related tasks.

Job requirements

  • Hold a certificate in medical device reprocessing or be in the 2nd or 3rd year of the program, or have any other relevant combination of experience.
  • Proficiency in French.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite is an asset.
  • Be available for a minimum of 21 hours per week, up to a maximum of 35 hours per week depending on the need.
