Our client holds a crucial position in the field of public transportation and integrated urban mobility in Quebec. They play a key role in promoting public transportation, coordinating and positioning its members (major industry players within the province), and organizing common activities, including group purchases. They have tasked us with recruiting a Strategic Communications Advisor to plan, organize, execute, and oversee internal and external communications activities. This position requires strong communication and strategy skills, as well as oral and written communication skills. In addition to social benefits, our client offers one mandatory in-office day on Tuesdays, with flexible arrangements for other days as agreed with the supervisor. Tasks

  • External Communications:
  • Collaborate with the management team, particularly the Director of Governmental and Institutional Relations, to develop strategies and define internal and external communication objectives.
  • Ensure the design and implementation of a communication plan aligned with strategic directions.
  • Propose messages and communication strategies tailored to issues and orientations, optimizing broadcasting according to the target audience.
  • Identify practices, tools, and means to improve communication processes and optimize message broadcasting according to the target audience.
  • Lead the organization of the annual conference in collaboration with the organizing committee.
  • Support sectoral committees assigned by the General Manager and maintain member engagement.
  • Organize and execute promotional, advertising, public relations, and media relations activities.
  • Write presentations, speeches, press releases, advertisements, corporate documents, and activity reports.
  • Advise the association's spokespersons on communication strategies and themes for their public interventions.
  • Manage and regularly update social media according to the communication plan.
  • Produce necessary indicators for strategic dashboards.
  • Quickly handle external information requests, including those from the media, in accordance with applicable policies.
  • Coordinate and oversee communication activities assigned to subcontractors.
  • Identify practices, tools, and means to improve communication processes.
  • Internal Communications:
  • Ensure effective sharing of information to staff and members.
  • Write and distribute various newsletters to staff and members.
  • Prepare daily press reviews and contribute to information monitoring.
  • Manage various platforms and update, develop, and write website content.
  • Other Responsibilities:
  • Represent the organization during continuous or occasional activities (committees, working groups, conferences, etc.) at the request of the General Manager.
  • Act as a reference person during meetings of certain committees.
  • Complete special projects requested by the general management.
  • Perform any other related tasks as requested.

Job requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Communications or a related field (e.g., Political Science, Journalism) and/or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience will also be considered.
  • At least five years of experience in a similar position in the public, political, or media sector.
  • Spoken and written French; English is an asset.
  • Experience with public or municipal transportation issues is an asset.
  • Experience in event organization.
