Tasks
Lead efforts to obtain cybersecurity certifications (CMMC and Cybersecure Canada).
Develop and maintain IT and cybersecurity documentation (policies, processes, procedures, forms, training materials).
Protect information system assets by identifying and resolving potential and actual security issues.
Protect the system by defining access privileges, control structures and resources.
Recognize problems by identifying anomalies and reporting violations.
Determine security violations and inefficiencies by conducting periodic audits.
Improve the system by implementing and maintaining security controls.
Manage IT projects and maintain IT infrastructure.
Manage external IT services and vendors.
Keep employees informed and train company personnel.
Troubleshoot and provide technical support to company personnel as needed.
Provide technical leadership and guidance to business teams in accordance with current industry trends and business needs.
Identify and implement technical process improvements.
Available for on-call support on occasion.

Job requirements
Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information systems or equivalent education or work experience.
5-7 years of prior relevant experience – advanced certification such as SANS GIAC/GCIA/GCIH, CISSP or CASP and/or SIEM specific training and certification – Certified information systems auditor (CISA).
Hold the DoD-8570 IAT Level 2 core certification (Security+ CE or equivalent) by start date.
Advanced understanding of TCP/IP, common network ports and protocols, traffic flow, firewall and system administration, in depth defense and common security elements.
Hands-on experience analyzing large daily volumes, network data and other attack artifacts in support of incident investigations.
Experience with vulnerability scanning solutions.
Proficiency with any of the following: Anti-Virus, HIPS, ID/PS, Full Packet Capture, Host-Based Forensics, Network Forensics and RSA Security.
Thorough knowledge of the architecture, engineering and operations of at least one corporate SIEM platform (for example, Nitro/McAfee Enterprise Security Manager, ArcSight, QRadar, LogLogic, Splunk).
Advanced knowledge of Windows desktop systems and server administration in a corporate environment.
Able to act as a key escalation point for all technical issues.
Scripting skills with Powershell, batch, SQL, VBA, Python is an asset.
Strong knowledge of cloud technologies and their uses, hands-on experience with AWS, Azure, is a plus.
Excellent understanding of current and future industry hardware standards.
Desired profile
Experience with corporate desktop and server administration tools including Active Directory, Microsoft MEM/SCCM, Microsoft 365, MS Exchange, VEEAM, Cisco Webex, MS Teams, Fortinet firewall.
