We are looking for a MySQL Database Administrator to join an exceptional team in the heart of Downtown Montreal. In this role, you will have the opportunity to work on the migration project from Sybase to MySQL while ensuring day-to-day management once the migration is complete.
Installing and configuring MySQL on all new servers.
Managing the physical architecture to achieve optimal efficiency, including managing the number of databases.
Implementing a backup strategy for the production database, with improvements over Sybase.
Enhancing user and application access management compared to Sybase, to comply with SOC2 standards.
Making necessary adjustments to MySQL for Fengine.
Deploying a monitoring system tailored for MySQL (selecting and installing new tools and ensuring daily management once in place).
Providing copies of databases to the development department and quality assurance team.
Optimizing SQL queries sent by the development team.
Establishing a recovery plan in case of production server loss.
Proposing improvements to databases to continuously enhance MySQL usage.
Performing any other related tasks as required.

Minimum 2 years of experience with MySQL.
Ideally, you have previously worked in a similar position or project (Sybase to MySQL migration).
Good understanding of Sybase (strongly considered asset).
Financial sector knowledge (an asset).
Bilingualism, French and English (an asset).
Excellent autonomy at work.
Strong analysis and decision-making skills.
Excellent communication skills in order to work with different teams.
