Are you an experienced maintenance professional? Do you possess a strong expertise in industrial maintenance? Have you successfully planned and implemented preventive and corrective maintenance strategies to ensure the smooth operation of key equipment in production? Are you adept at time management, prioritizing interventions, and minimizing unplanned downtime, thereby ensuring reliable and efficient production? We have the challenge for you! Our client, located on the south shore of Montreal, is a rapidly expanding company that has been in operation for nearly two decades. They have developed impeccable expertise in the field of polypropylene. The company offers high-quality products to its customers in various sectors. They are currently seeking a planner for their maintenance department. Under the supervision of the Superintendent, you will play an essential role in planning and managing maintenance and upkeep work. You will be the go-to person responsible for ensuring the availability of manpower and necessary materials for the work to be done, aiming for the smooth operation of the equipment and factory operations.

Tasks

  • Ensuring the required cleanliness level according to AIB, BRCGS, and HACCP requirements.
  • Ensuring compliance with ISO 9001, ISO 12001, ISO 45001 standards.
  • Monitoring inventories of materials, equipment, and equipment, coordinating orders and replenishments with the buyer.
  • Ensuring the availability of manpower and materials necessary for the work to be done.
  • Coordinating work with different departments (production, purchasing, maintenance, engineering).
  • Completing reports (work orders, work history, plans and specifications, work hours, ISO standards).
  • Training, supervising, and mobilizing your team on a daily basis (between 15 and 20 people).
  • Receiving, analyzing, and transmitting work orders.
  • Planning maintenance and upkeep work safely.
  • Planning and leading scheduled shutdown work.
  • Supervising all maintenance and upkeep group activities.
  • Planning and coordinating all maintenance operations to achieve defined objectives.
  • Planning, organizing, and monitoring budgets and schedules specific to maintenance and upkeep.
  • Actively participating in various committees and meetings (SST, sustainability, ISO, etc.).
  • Acting as a replacement for the maintenance supervisor when needed.
  • Keeping maintenance and upkeep system data up to date.
  • Ensuring compliance with safety and quality standards.
  • Performing any other related tasks.

Job requirements

  • Hold either a college diploma in mechanical or industrial engineering, or a diploma in electromechanics.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar position.
  • Ability to respond to maintenance issue calls in the evenings and on weekends.
  • Knowledge of ISO 9001, 14001, 45001 standards.
  • Knowledge of programmable logic controllers.
  • Knowledge of the plastics or pulp and paper sector.
  • Knowledge of plastic extrusion equipment.
  • Ability to read plans and technical drawings.
  • Ability to use various computer software such as MS Office suite (Windows, Excel, Outlook) and an ERP system.
  • Knowledge of AutoCad (2D, 3D), SAP, and Optivision software.
  • Proficiency in French and good written and oral English skills.
