Our business partner, a company established on the South Shore of Montreal since 2002, offering services ranging from engineering to industrial maintenance, is looking for an Industrial Estimator / Construction Project Manager to strengthen their team. Depending on the candidate’s profile, there is potential for advancement into a managerial position. As Estimator / Construction Project Manager within this company, reporting to the Vice President, you will play a crucial role in planning major construction projects, coordinating human and material resources in a dynamic and ever-evolving work environment.

Tasks

  • Acting as a resource for employees under your responsibility.
  • Managing the team (organization, training, handling tardiness and absences, etc.).
  • Passing knowledge and technical expertise on to your team.
  • Contributing to the continuous improvement of internal procedures, tools and equipment, best practices, etc.
  • Designing and estimating future projects.
  • Participating in project selection.
  • Estimating and coordinating calls for tenders.
  • Preparing and monitoring timelines.
  • Validating and following up on plans.
  • Planning, supervising, and monitoring projects.
  • Managing projects in close collaboration with various stakeholders: internal departments, foremen, subcontractors, clients, suppliers, etc.
  • Approving and monitoring expenses and costs (budget) related to construction sites.
  • Planning material purchases and confirming deliveries and availability with suppliers.
  • Organizing and participating in construction site meetings.
  • Managing client relationships (communication, additional requests, disputes, etc.).
  • Conducting site visits.
  • Performing any other related tasks.

Job requirements

  • DCS in Building Mechanics or equivalent higher education.
  • At least five years of relevant experience (estimation, project management, supervision).
  • At least 10 years of experience on construction sites.
  • Access to a car is required.
  • Proficiency in MS Office, including intermediate-level Excel.
  • Bilingual (fluent French and professional English).
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit software (an asset).
  • Membership in the Ordre des ingénieurs is considered an excellent asset.
