Our client, a non-profit family solidarity center, is seeking its next General Manager. This position requires a highly skilled manager capable of effectively overseeing all operations of the organization, mobilizing teams, and implementing exemplary practices and policies. Previous experience in the community sector is essential to succeed in this role, as well as a proven ability to fulfill the organization's mission in line with the directions and goals set by the board of directors. In addition to benefits and a generous leave allowance of up to five weeks, with a contribution to the Registered Retirement Savings Plan (RRSP), this position offers the stimulating opportunity to tackle various challenges and make organizational changes. You will work alongside a team of competent professionals, supported by a board of directors that firmly emphasizes the organization's success, in a professional, accessible, and supportive environment.

Tasks

  • 1. Strategic Management:
  • Inform the board of directors about changes that may influence the organization's activities.
  • Develop strategic partnerships to promote and finance the organization's objectives.
  • Increase the organization's visibility and manage relationships with external partners.
  • 2. Operational Management:
  • Lead and coordinate all activities of the organization in accordance with the mandates of the board of directors.
  • Ensure the smooth functioning of the organization and the quality of services provided.
  • Supervise day-to-day operations to ensure efficiency and effectiveness.
  • 3. Human Resources Management:
  • Develop and implement the organization's human resources management policy.
  • Participate in the recruitment, interview, and selection of employees.
  • Supervise, mentor, and lead employees under your responsibility.
  • 4. Financial and Material Resources Management:
  • Propose funding strategies and establish an annual budget.
  • Monitor the organization's financial activities and ensure budget compliance.
  • Ensure the adoption of good accounting practices.
  • 5. Associative Life:
  • Stimulate member involvement in the organization.
  • Encourage the social participation of members using the services.
  • 6. Others:
  • Perform any other related tasks associated with the position.

Job requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant discipline or equivalent combination of education and a minimum of three years' experience in managing a non-profit organization.
  • In-depth knowledge of the community sector and political issues.
  • Excellent command of written and spoken French.
  • Significant experience in human, material, financial resource management, and project management.
  • Excellent understanding of the reality of vulnerable populations (an asset).
